Matt you asked if the MT57 arm is smaller and the answer is yes. That version of the HDA carb comes with the smallest arm of any of the walbro carbs I have seen. Below are a variety of arms that can be used on carbs. The last picture is a picture of some fiberglass ones a vender I know supplies with the Mt engines he sells. I have also used Dubro nylon steering arms cut down and aluminum arms you can buy to replace the arms on your carb. 42% products sell them as well as a few others. You can also fabricate your own out of brass or aluminum sheet etc.

I just bought a DLE 55, can someone please tell me what the best oil to use for break in? It says 30:1 but not what type. I normally use Lawnboy ashless to break in 3W's and my brison, Then went to 100:1 amsoil. Can I go to synthetic after break in and if so can I use the amsoil?

Thanks,
Mike

i use nothing but pennzoil air cooled in my dle55.after using lawnboy ashless in a da50 for five gals.then switch to amsoil at a 100-1 just as DA tells you to.i had to replace the piston due to wear at the wrist pin after one summer of flying.this was when the first da's came out and now i don't think they recommend amsoil at 100-1 anymore.
lots of info on oil do a search.

After a couple thousand pages of reading, I settled on 32:1 Pennzoil Air-cooled.  Have since moved to 40:1 and it's picked up some power.  Pennzoil says as low as 50:1, but I'm cool with a little extra protection.  Will not switch to anything else as I've gotten flawless performance out of it, and have not seen any issues with it.<div>
</div><div>Seriously, though...stay AWAY from Lawnboy Ashless.  If you're going to run Amsoil Saber, go 80:1 instead of 100:1.  Seriously.</div>

I am a DLE 55 believer. I am using Pennzoil air cooled at 32:1. Stihl synthetic after break in.

You leave a lot of room for improvement in both of your oil choices and the ratios.

There you go.

A company shouldn't mass produce and sell untested engines. Based on forum posts, I bet more than half of all engines sold by MT are unusable in thier original condition. That is no bargin.
