I used a 20X8 Menz prop when I had it but since then the guy I sold it to is using a 21X8 with great results. Another friend of mine is using a 22X8 on his BME 44. If I still had the 44 I would use the 22X8 NX.

Just an update.
I just received the J&A peacekeeper muffler for the bme 50 and will be installing it tomorrow. I also got a WT201B carb from Keith and will let you know how it goes in a few days. The big difference with this muffler is there is no baffle inside at all and it has the 3/4 in. output tubes. It's gonna be louder I imagine but as long as I get max power I'll be a happy as a pig in slop.

I hope my firewall wasn't weakened too much because I had to route out quite a bit of the underside to make room for the new muffler.
I also sealed the muffler joint with red high temp rtv so I will let it cure until tomorrow then I'll have the test results for you.

I don't understand why you would have to route out any of your firewall for the muffler. If the engine is spaced so the prop backplate is 7 inches from the firwall the muffler fits with room to spare.

Here is a pic of the finished set up. I capped the carved out area with 1/64 in. ply for added support. While I was in here I decided to lighten up the motor mount structure a little too. Took almost 3 oz. off. not counting the carved out area of the engine box.

I did get a chance to finally tach the engine today and it was at 6700 max rpm. Not what I was hoping for but I can't think of any other reason my engine is taching so low compared to others out there. I may have to adjust the timing next to see if that helps.
