I have an MVVS 58 Prosport that I'm putting in my Comp-Arf Extra 330L 2.3. Which pipe would be the better one to use for engine performance, the MTW RE2 or the ES Composite ES55G?

Thanks Pe, when I get the engine mounted next weekend I'll determine which will be the better fit length wise in the fuse but I'm guessing it's going to be the RE2 pipe with the long header so I can get past the landing gear block and under the wing tube. I will also have the pics next weekend too.
Well I couldn't wait until the weekend to find out. Took the fuse out of the box and mounted the motor dome, my guess was right the long header and RE2 pipe will be the combination for a good fit in the fuse. I will still get everything back out, mounted and pics this coming weekend to show you then we can figure out the drop for the header and I'll get it ordered.

Well I got the engine mounted and the RE2 set in place now I just have to figure out the header, 16" will be great PE and for measurements what will you need?

I'll need the vertical displacement from exhaust flange to pipe entry, and the distance from flange rear bolt to start of pipe.
If your engine offset is not 2°, I need the offset as well.
When I make a header with specified offset. the spinner backplate will be dead center. My jig is built like that.

Hi Pe, well I measured it as best I could and it looks like the offset is 1/8", center of flange to center of pipe is 2 3/4" and 16" for the length. I will also need a mount set, coupler and clamps for the RE2 pipe. I put in an order on your website if you need any other information or have any suggestions feel free to e-mail me.

24x8 Bambula, Xoar or Menz. If you prefer carbon props use 24x10 cause they like to spool a bit more than woods.

I was thinking of using a VESS prop.

Don't know about Vess.
Mejzlik 22x12x3 or Mejzlik 24x10x2 would be in the ball park. For lower noise, mejzlik 26x10Nx2. You can use my spreadsheet to find equivalent woods/carbons.
BTW, header done, waiting for Muffler mounts to roll in.

Hi, well at the moment all I have on the bench is the fuse, motor dome and engine everything else is still packed away. I just wanted to get the engine mounted so I could get a header made up. What I can do is next weekend when I get back home from work I'll pull everything out weigh it and give you the total weight of the plane only(after I mount the pipe). I will be building mine as lite as possible with the least amount of extra equipment. As soon as the header shows up and I mount the pipe I'll take everything off and weigh it all for you.
