Default Moki/Mark G con rod on glow?

Hi has anyone checked, will the gas con rod fit on the glo version motor? Are the wrist pin and crank pin diamaters the same as the glo? Looking to play with my old 180 a bit and would like to have a roller bearing on the rod and am too lazy to clean off the junk on top of the lathe...

The crank pin for a bushing engine is probably not hardened and would not survive using a roller bearing.

True.

I think some people have drilled out the stock pin and pressed a harder pin in the spot. I don't know anything more about it, except that I've heard of people doing it. No idea if it works or if it's even possible.

The gas versions of the Moki, though it has been around for many years, has never been popular enough for you to get a definite answer.

Aviator 77 has some good advice.

2walla,

Why not buy one and let us know. Methanol will pit the needles unless you run castor.

The bushed rod will run fine on gas with a 20:1 mix.

I would not waste any money buying a gas moki as a da 50 is about the same weight and a lot more powerful.. But since I have four or five ignition modules laying around, I figured that I would drill the head for a cm6 plug, and put it on gasoline. If the conrod from the gas motor would fit without a major hassle it would be a plus. Either the gas versions will fit on the glow models or the gas ones are really hard on rods because everyone has them on back order...

Just use the bushed rod with more oil.
