Hey PlaneKrazee
There are countless variations of reed blocks. To get an accurate answer can you be more specific?
Some are made from plastic - various grades - from cheaper and cheaper to better and better....
Some are made from aluminum
Some are made from steel.
Some are made from carbon fiber
The vanes
- spring steel
- carbon fiber
Cheers

I'm looking for a plastic that is fuel proof and heat resistant, similar to the reed block on a DA 85. I want to machine a part from it to fill excess space in a intake plenum of an engine.

Some of those materials would need to be molded, not machined. If you need to machine it, perhaps try G10 board. If you can't find the thickness you need to start with, it layers well.

It has better dimensional stability than most plastics when combined with fluids, and is quite heat resistant. The guys in the proto shop loved it.
