Default DLE 55

I just bought my first DLE 55 and have a ignition question. The ignition appears to have 1 wire to many. 1 wire to the spark plug, black insulated wire to black insulated wire. 2 Futaba plugs. I am guessing the red tip plug goes to the switch, but where does the 4th wire go???

I think if you have the new RCExcell Ign that the 4th wire go's to a on board tach. I read that somewhere else in here when somebody asked the same question.

The 4th wire you described is for an accessory digital tachometer from Rcexl, just tie it up and secure it out of the way if you aren't using it.

Problem is Walt, it is way too small to see from the ground and it doesn't record so it's only useful on the ground for checking tune etc.

Hi Jezmo

I think that is the idea for tuning on the ground....
Easier than holding a tac in front / back of a swinging prop

i'd stick it on the dashboard in the cockpit...the rpm range is 0-30,000...maybe we'll see a video of somebody's mini-tach displaying some unbelievable numbers (with a secret oil mixture)...lol...ken

Thanks everyone for your help. I always get confused when the number of the wires don't match up. Thanks again
