i doubt it ,,unless hes gone into partnership with someone,,but if it goes anything like the engine line ,,its time to get a life presrver,,before the ship goes down,,now that sounds cruel and cynical,,but track records count.

Wicked flashback!!! My mother had bought me a t-shirt that said exactly that when I was about 20. I had forgotten all about it.

new cylinder mod need some time. also new assemble line need time too . sure combo to sell plane and engine will be good. depend on what plane fit twin cylinder engine . maybe bigger size like 90 inch Sbach or Yak .

There are lots of 50cc sized planes that the slant plug 70 fits in right now.

It's a copy of an MT80, not news, it's been around for quite some time. No surprise really, someone else over there with the gumption to put an engine together from commonly available parts with the help of a job shop for a little machining, happens all the time. These people didn't do any home work though, they copied and turd.

The DJ is cheap enough, you can get two turds for the price of one.

On the MLD 70, I was told by someone in the know that they were coming out with one about 6 months ago, I can get to SDS web site but can not find them. ????

If not over priced I would get one just to see how they do.

Just woundering why Cermark does not have them on ther site.

If the 70 twin is as good as the 35 single Steve has a winner...The 35 single I have here is great...They need to change to RC EXL ignition, the Melody is a little iffy....

I checked last night right after the post when up and there was nothing there Milton. I also did the same as you and checked Cermark. Wasn't there either, so I did a web search and came up with nothing. Gave up at that point.....

i wasnt trying to create a new thread or a mystery, either for that fact,,,the way i found out ,,is cyclone hobby aka, sds, is my secret source of wholesale stuff from asia,, i once got a 50 cc yak with cf parts for less than 200.00 before shipping,,,,,,they send me a newsletter every so often,,,according to the news letter the 70 twin is supposed to be available in may,,,thats why you wont see it in their regular listing,,i agree that the dj 70 is most likely junk ,especially for the fact its just a mt 80 in disguise,,probably only difference is the lack of the name on it and some cheap anodizing.,,,,,,,,you know what preplexexes me fellas,,,,tommy had an engine that should have been at the forefront of 30 % sized areobatic plane power,,it should have and could have been the engine everyone wanted for maximum performance in the arena,,yet because of cutting corners and saving a few bucks on production and inspection,,we have nothing,,,it appears that the competition ,was listening,,of coure we wont know for sure until someone gets ahold of one of theese,,to see for sure.

Chinese engine companies have been developing small twins for a couple years now. Most of them have tried opposing their single cylinder parts hoping for twice the power and found out it doesn't quite work that way, Tomy seemed to understand this to some degree but it's hard to tell. Like Milton I knew of the MLD in the works but I fear it won't fit in anything without a big round cowl, 30% yaks may get more popular for a while, and yeah, the MLD ignition is more than a little....iffy.

Norm,

You don't need to worry about your MT70, I can help you keep it going for many more airframes down the road.

thank you jody,,its good to know my orphan engine has a way of getting repaired ,,if i dont have one of them total loss crashes, and if i ever find the need to send it to you,,ill send a nice new version mt 70cc case and crank assembly with it so you can add it to your useless pile.i dont know if mld has a manufacturer website,,,i havent looked ,,but if they do im sure theres more info on their upcoming product releases,,and to back up the claims of mld ,s choice of ignition,,i had a friend who had me help him with his little mld powered plane,,and yup,,,,the ignition failed within 10 minutes of testing...i have see reviews in modeller mags,,on the mld line and actually havent heard many complaints on their qc or issues with quality,,but we all know modeller mags depend on manufacturers to spend ad money ,,so usually reviews wont be so honest when it comes to criticizing ,,because it could cost the publisher loss of income,i dont remember seeing any reviews on the mt line,,maybe for obvious reasons.

If what I was told is the truth, The owner of MLD is a electronic engineer and designed the ignition and there is a little ego when it comes to what ignition they use.

So probably if you see them sold with a Rcexl it will be form being replaced by who ever is selling the engine.
