Default Identify this engine.

Sorry no prize,

A friend bought a plane with this engine. I don't reconize it. He was told it was a 4.2. Anyone know?
Thanks,
Kelly

I think it's an SPE 43.

Here's a picture of my MT42 which is very similar to the SPE43.

Sorry I forgot to mention it's mounted on a Hanger 9 Carden Yak and it swinging a Zoar 24x10.

BTW I was looking at an ad last nite, and I beleive it could be a RCGF 65 sold by BP hobbies.

A 4.2 (68.8cc) could, but a 42cc would be sweating pretty hard in the attempt.

Thunderbolt,

The engine you have there is a RCGF 65cc. It's a bit of an antique but makes very good power and is extremely reliable.
One thing to check out for is hub run-out, the early models had problems here.
It will run props in the 22X10 to 28x10 range and do so until the fuel runs out. Enjoy it, I have 2 of them and I am always amassed how well they run.

Regards
Andreas

Thanks Andreas, I'll pass that info on to my friend.
