Default MVVS 1.6 gas engine

Tried to start a new MVVS 1.6 gas engine today and could not get any spark out of the ignition. I had battery voltage right up to the engine side of my switch but could get no spark. Looks like a bad ignition but I was wondering if anybody could shed light on the sibject. What do I need to check? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

which ignition system do you have, round cannister type, valch or falkon

try plugging your battery directly and bypass your switch

you need a very dark room to see the spark.

Here's one possibility: if you have the EZM 1 ignition, it has a feature that shuts off the ignition after 90 seconds of inactivity. If the 90 seconds times out before you turn the engine over, then you'll need to turn the ignition off then back on again to re-activate it.

I don't know if the other versions of ignition also have this feature.
