I bought a RCGF 20 CC side carb engien a few month back and installed it into a H-9 P47 (60 size). It fits very well and balanced the plan without adding
any additional weight.
I encountered two issues:
a) the engine does not idle anymore...simply put I can close the throttle and still have approx. 4500 rpm...it does not slow down ? I check throttle linkage and did go to manual throttle control...It starts just fine..holds idle..than I rev up, close the throttle and the engine continue to run in the mid range and holds that rpm...I have to turn off the ignition to stop it.
..anybody has a suggestion ??
b) I use a futaba 8 transmitter on 72mhz / FM / installed the receiver 45 inch from the ignition module but still get the jitters on the trottle serve, even with antenna fully extended.
Does anybody know if the RCGS engines / egnitions / plugs are are shieled against radio emission ?
Any setup tips and experience ?
thanks
Pete

Hey Pietro
The idling issue can be an air leak between the carb and the engine. The bolts may be a little loose. What you can do is to apply a thin layer of liquid gasket sealer to the surfaces, sandwich the paper gasket between them and tighten the bolts. This will ensure a proper seal.
In regards to interference.... here is a great article and check list
