May be this has already been done, couldn't find it searching, but if we ran an oil popularity survey which oil would you guess most of the experienced engine guys say they use?

I am sure Pennzoil would be one of them, not sure it would be first pick but maybe it would.

I use Pennzoil for Air Cooled Engines, and that is what I recommend to my customers.

I also really pay attention when T.O.M. speaks.... He knows what he is talking about!

Very generic statements.
Synthetic oil make less carbon, but its very very hard.
Dino oil makes more carbon but the carbon is very soft and easily removed.
About the worst thing you can do is to run a Synthetic 100:1
Couldn't agree more generically speaking.

HP Ultra, Redline, and Motul 800 for me as well. Just an observation but what little carbon forms on top of my 50cc piston is so soft it can be wiped off with a regular paper towel. (That's with Redline Two Stroke Racing at 40:1)

I have the same results with Putoline RS959, but do not know if that oil is available worldwide. Sides of the piston are clean, the top has carbon, but a gas soaked rag will wipe almost all of it off. What remains is just a black stain on the piston crown with flow pattern in clean alu.

The Putoline is not available over here. We checked on that a couple of years ago.

I know, but you have Redline. Motul oils also are available here.
There are several good synthetics, so there may be others on local markets as well.
