Default DLE 55 ignition

I have a new DLE 55, all mounted and ready to go. I plugged the red 2 wire connector from the module into the switch, no spark. If I plug the black "tach"connector into the switch, I get spark. The ignition module looks a little different than most of the ones I see. The module is a model A-01. I don't want to toast the module right off the bat. Any help is appreciated.
thanks,

The tach connector goe to the smae part og the board as the sensor wire, You could fry it pluging the battery into that connecter, How are you testing it for spark and when you pluged the battery into the tach plug how did you make it fire. ???

No, it only sparks when it passes the hall sensor. I had other connector (the red one) plugged into the switch and could not get any spark. Thats why I switched the plugs.
The hi-tenson wire is on the sparkplug, and the spark plug is grounded to the side of the engine. I get a spark everytime the magnet passes the hall sensor.

The red and black wires are common to all the connectors, you can't fry anything plugging something in wrong...Sounds like the red and black wires inside the battery connector are either pushed back in too far or aren't crimped inside...
Cut the plastic connector off the 2 wire battey connector and replace it...
In case whoever you bought the engine from won't replace the igntion send it to me, I will, there is obviously nothing wrong with the ignition itself....

I think the wires were pushed back too far. I'm getting a spark now with the "proper" connector.
thanks guys.
