hey guys i have a crrc pro gf26i v2. and can any one tell me what the actual timing is on this motor. the reason why im asking is when im trying to start it , it trys to start but kicks back and foreward and then stops. it has about 4 hours run time but no air mileage yet because it tends to vibrate too much when i throttle up at first, but then it smooths out. i think i measured the timing properly and its at about 38-40 degrees. i used the rcexel timing kit for that. i have moved it a little to the left and right but not much difference.
any ideas?.

Hey Colin
The timing should be @28 degrees..... A lot of the asian engine shops put their timing waaaaaay ahead.. why? They can claim a more rpm...at the expense of mid range and start up. Its a cheap trick.
You want a faster way to check the timing, adjust it and make it right on???

I had an SV50 with the same problem. I had to elongate the slots in the bracket with a moto tool or file to get to 28deg. I also had to use a larger washer on one end because I cut the slot all the way out. If that doesn't work, a radiator hose clamp will let you set the timing wherever you wish. The hose clamp is what C-H ignitions sends with their universal ignition set. Works fine.
