Default Prop Question

I have a GP Sukhoi SU-31 with a RCGF 50 CC engine. I love the way it flies. I have a 22x10 APC prop on it now and have about 1/2" ground clearance. I am putting on a 20x10 prop which will give me another 1". Is that to small of a prop for a 50 cc engine?

I am using a Zinger 20X11 with a Brison 3.2, about 50cc, and get around 6800 RPM with it on the ground. It’s a great combination. A Zinger 20X10 cranks up to 7400 with the same engine. Dan.

Go to TNT and have them make a taller set of gear. They have a printable form on the web site that you fill out for custom gear. Get your numbers written down. Then call and give them the A-B-C-D measurements. They have way better metal than stock gear. Prices are about the same as two broken props. I have a 33% H9 Cap that is 2in. higher than stock.

A side benefit is that the prop sits up higher and makes it a little easier to reach while starting.

I have the same plane and will be using a 20x10 three blade on a DLE55. Used a 20x8 and a 20x10 three blade in the past with a DL50 on a GP Eatra 330s.

I have the same plane with a DLE 55 on it and went through the same thing. I have since decided to put a 45cc on it.
Before that I was considering putting longer landing gear because that seemed to be the best option.

Two questions... will a 3 bladed prop cut down on the performance of the plane and what is the danger in using the 20x10.. over reving the engine?

A three blade will absorb some of the power but you have a ton to give. As for over reving with a 20x10, believe me you will only be using about 1/3-1/2 of the engine's power in 3-D flight anyway.

I was able to bend the landing gear down some and I now have 4" clearance on a 22" prop.. is that enough?
