Typically, Jtec mufflers are at least 3db less than stock and boost performance whereas Slimline seem louder that Jtec with no increase in performance over stock.

Gentlemen,a 1/4 scale J3 Cub only needs a stiff breeze to lift it off the ground .At half throttle the Saito 120 flies the model scale at only half throttle !!! Plenty of power.....
Have you decided if your going to install this DLE20cc in your J3 cub?

A1pc fixer:
I had a 1/4 scale cub with a enya 120, not the R version, and it flew ok, but be careful, with not a lot extra power available . I then used a OS 160 Twin and it had far more authority, perfect flyer for its type. The OS turned a 18-6 Mejik at 7400-7600 RPM, flew at half throttle. New to gas, just wondering where the DLE 20 would fit power wise

Regarding the J3 Cub, perhaps snowball will respond and you two can discuss it.

Also, in my recap of details several msg's above, see the section [Interesting Comments]

It's doable, but at 7 1/2 lbs it's gonna be a rocket, more than an enjoyable rc aircraft.
For that particular model, a JBA .15 would be a better match.

Am considering this
http://www.chiefaircraft.com/rcmsec/...ltimate90.html

Being that is calls for a 91-1.20 Four stroke will the DLE 20 be OK for it?

No, as it's recommended eng is a .61, and at the lower weight range, it'd be a bit much to handle.
Remember now, this DLE20cc is equal to a 1.20 4-stroke....plus some.

Most certainly!
Great covering scheme btw.

Poor reviews on it over at Horizon Hobby, under 'Reviews'. Most notably very weak L-G and little glue.

If you look at the pictures closely on the site, It appears as if the Velox has a gasser up front, can't make out if it's the DLE 20 though. The video[X(]

Yea, but the video is a -20 for sure. I spoke to them and they confirmed that they are flying the Velox with it and it is great! Light weight, lots of squares, it has to be alot of fun! When my wife asked what I wanted for Christmas, I just sent her to the 3DHS (and a couple of others) site and said get whatever you want, I will be happy with it. But I did hint that I have the engine, servos, Rx for the Velox if she got that. She is so supportive though, she would get the 103 inch Extra even though, she knows I got to give DA some money if that show up, just because it looked cooler to her.

My personal opinion having flown many Piper Cubs from 80" thru 100"+ is that a DLE-20 will tear its wings off unless you have a very light touch on the throttle. A Saito FA-56 will handle this aircraft and a Saito FA-100 will haul its rump around laike a little rag doll! Just imagine what a DLE-20 could do IMHO.

I thought I recognized your user name, it's from the GP Ultimate forum! It is a great plane and my number 1 too! I think my number 2 plane at this pointt is a GP Venus II, with a Saito 125. The DLE 20 would probably work nicely in the Venus as well. If I really like the DLE 20 I may try one in my Venus , and slowly but surely get out of glow fuel planes.
