Ok, not enough info. Questions:
1. What is the Special chemosyntheses oil, and what does it cost and where do you get it?
2. Does the glow plug need energizing all the run time of the engine or just to start?
3. What is the cost of the engine?
4. Is this different than the engines some are converting to run on glow-gas fuel with a mix of Premium gasoline and 10% glow fuel and starting on glow but running with no power to the glow plug?
5. Doesn't Enya also have a 4 stroke Diesel coming out?
Likely these answers are not known until someone buys one and checks it out, but, I gotta ask anyway.
Thanks.
Regards,
Richard

I know you did. Nice job on the conversion too!
Let me guess:
low power, large prop, small carb.
Icing problems
low fuel flow sensitivity problems
lots of work to get the fuel economy on par
Fuel devellopment
plane efficiency calculations; lots of pioneer work
etc ad infinitum.
Wish I had been there.

Pretty much covers it. Looks like Enya is now coming "full circle"
FYI, a lot of the same issues carried over to gas engines when it came time to get serious. Especially induction icing. Nobody had a clue our little gassers were susceptible to that, and the proof was very elusive. Airframe icing isn't much of a difficulty. The plane avoids the conditions or heads for the dirt, er, water....
Have to give some credit to Elson for follow on development. A little later he provided some pretty useful information to one of the team members where gas engine set up was concerned.

I think in Google it comes up under the Aerosonde and Insitu key words? http://www.robotbooks.com/robotic-airplane.htm

Correct.
The vehicle has long since been sold off to another company and is beyond recognition now. We have another vehicle that has been extremely successful with another on the way. The Aerosonde got our feet wet and showed us the path we were to travel. The challenges never cease but make the trip that much sweeter as they are overcome.

This new Enya may be OK. I seen & heardaengine ina Big warbird that ran perfect. I asked the guy what engine he was running....it was a Big Supertiger 3000 series and he said it never ran good untill he used L85 pump gas & a Hot 4 cycleO.S. Max"F" glow plug. Maybe that Enya is High compression and will run good too.........

The New Enya gas 1.80 looks to be a joint venture. Not Sure. I do know the Enya 1.20R was a powerfull engine made in Japan. A good quality engine Some more data

From what I read, the oil is a synthetic blend that has more of a catalytic action with the glow plug. So that should be no big deal. Just wish they would get that new Enya Gas engine on the market soon! Capt,n

Well E85 may not be easy to get for some, but it works real good in the Bigger Supertiger engines in combination with a OS Max 4 cycle glow plug. This is all more fun with-out the word "govermnent" attached. Capt,n

It's supposed to be out tomorrow, just got an email from Enya Direct about it today. I was really disapointed to see that the price is set at JPY 89,800 which loosely translates to about US $1100.00. I was thinking about it for one of my planes and It's cool, but definitely not Eleven Hundred bucks cool. Just think about a Fuel Injected / Supercharged / all signing and dancin' YS DZ170 at full retail for $690.00
Mr. Ken better revise his pricing strategy if he's expecting to sell this thing..

Or low budget buyers will need to revise their financial arrangements and get better jobs. People seem to thoink the upper end engines need low prices to sell.
Wrong way of thinking. The upper end engines have plenty of buyers and don't need the low budget buyers. There's far more sales generated at the upper end than at the low end with general hobbiests. Same applies to radio gear.
