Hello All,
I recently have to CDI ignition boxes "go bad" on me. (btw DL Engines). I flew my plane on a sunday, everything worked just fine, the next sunday the engine wouldn't start. It resulted that the problem was with the ignition. After truing to figure out what was wrong and taking one apart, I figured out that the current was shorting to the metal part that fits over the spark-plug. Thus it was shorting/arcing directly from the wire to the metal without going trough the resistor and thus not reaching the spark-plug. Both ignitions did EXACTLY the same thing[>:].
Does anybody happen to know why AND if this can be fixed?
Pls help!

cap not pushed on far enough mostly is the problem here. Or the cap is not retained well enough. Some attention here pays off.
Spark plug gap? 0.5 for CM6

Nopes! definitely ignition. I even try replacing the resistor.
