RE: DA 50cc Ignition

Most people put plastic spiral wire wrap around this wire to revent this problem.

RE: DA 50cc Ignition

Yep. Any auto parts store also has stuff to protect wires.

He already stated that he had "spiral wire" BUT that it melted so I think
he already tried that. I think he just need to keep the wire away from
whatever is causing the problem. What he is really asking is how does he
repair the already frayed wire.

I do not know about DA but a DLE electronic ignition cost $80 here.
I could research it for you if you like.

Here are a couple links you might want to check out if you are going to use a RCexl ignition on a DA engine.

Wrap the damaged area with some aluminum tape or something to prevent any chance of interference and it will be fine. You can also buy wire braid that is the same as what is damaged. You would have to remove the cap to slide it over and then replace the cap with a new one. Easier to just put a wrap of metal based tape over the damaged area if you don't want to get fancy. DA or any igntion place like CH (closed) should be able to repair it for you if you have the time to send it in.

The ground sheathing can still be used as is since it has not been completely severed, but it would be better if you wrapped it with a couple layers of tin foil and secured the foil.

Fiberglass cowls are well noted for causing plug wires to rapidly abraid to an unusable condition if they are permitted to make contact with each other. The spiral warp only slighlty delays that process if the wires are not installed in a manner that assures separation between the cowl and the wire. One of the reasons I don't care for plastic spiral wrap is it provides a false sense of security. With or without the plastic wrap, wires must be installed in a manner that does not permit them to make contact with the cowl. Extra layers of plastic wrap will not save them if they make contact with the cowl.

Should be fine. Like TOM said even some foil will work.
