getting my first gas engine
 
here very soon i'm getting my first gasser engine i'm going to get the RCSSV26 and i'm going to be running with a 3 blade 16x8 prop and im haveing a problem finding a spinner and adapter for it i'm looking for a 2 1/2 or a 2 1/4 spinner dia. can anybody point me in the right dircetion

I would venture to say that the 2 1/2" would be the minimum for that engine and prop

The 16X8, 17X6, and 18X6 props are used with most 26cc-30cc gassers running a two blade prop. I could be wrong but you may want to try a 15" dia. prop for the 3 blade. Let some guys chime in here that are running a three blade prop. They will know for sure.

has anybody used the rcs sv26 from troy built models i'm going to put in my cessna skylane my whole problem is finding a spinner and adapter for the spinner for the plane every 2 1/2 spinner i find needs to be modifed

I think Dave Brown will custom cut a spinner for $5-$10 for any prop. Call them and ask.

for the price dave brown make a just as good of a spinner as tru turn, its just that dave brown spinners tend to be a little thinner(lighter).. and that's not a bad thing if you dont over tighten them ;)

whats the best way to set up my gas motor i plan on useing a servo for the choke i'm use to nitros and this is my first gasser i know the fuel lines setup is differnet i don't plan on smoke or any flying tricks just a good old fashion scale flying plane how should the vent be and i will be useing a fuel dot

Read the newbie "Sticky" at the top of the page.

Gas throttles are typically very sensitive down close to idle
