Whats that red plug for???;)
|
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
That is a Ralph Cunningham G62 light conversion, you will not find a better engine anywhere than that one.
The plug on the side of the cup mount is for the power to the ignition. Milton |
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
Can I get an after market Ignition for it BadAzzMaxx? I think I struck gold here, this engine has so much compression it wants to wring my wrist whenever I turn the prop shaft, very good engine, yes sir.

RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
Yes, But is the ignition on it not working.
Milton |
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
I did not get one with the engine.

RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
Ralph is called Antique here on the forums, If you have a problem with that engine I would contact him, He knows that engine inside out.
I do replacement carry ignitions if you want to go that route. Milton |
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
That is it you are looking at in the cup mount, Just get a connecter that fits the red plug on the side and it should work.

RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
Is CH ignitions still in business, where can I find one???
|
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
Ok I got that, if I get the plug where would I attach it or what would I attach it to??
|
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
No CH has closed for now, But again, Hook up a battery to the red connector on the side of the cup.
The ignition uses the existing Zenoah coil and the electronic board in the cup mount is what fires it. Milton |
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
I see that you sell replacement Ignitions, cool, do you sell any for this engine??
|
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
Ok BadAzzMaxx, this is very helpful information, I will try what you've just recommended.
|
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
??????
Why do you want to buy a ignition when you have one that should work. To use my ignitions you have to remove the one in the cup mount, Remove the existing coil and then install a connector to the sensor lead wire. Milton |
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
Pardon me BadAzz Maxx, I wasn't sure what the circuit was, but I will hook up a battery pak, is 4.8v pack fine to use??
|
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
Yes

RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
ORIGINAL: mustangshooter I did not get one with the engine. Unless I'm badly mistaken that's the ignition inside the cup mount at the rear of the engine. Karol |
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
First time seeing such a setup Karol.
|
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
Back then it was one of the best setups you could ever get. Still is too, including the engine conversion.
Karol |
RE: Questions Regarding Older Zenoah Engine
