CH ignition
Hi, I am new to the forums.
I have a Brison 3.2 , I tried to start it without the plug attached, I think I fried the ignition. Is there any fixed to it? I am good at soldering but some of the componants have the numbers sanded off. What is the most likely parts to fail? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Perry |

I don't know if you killed the ignition or not but when mine failed I sent them back to CH and it was always replaced and not repaired. That leads me to believe that they may not be repairable. Maybe some of the experts out there know how to do it. If you are sure that it's the ignition module and not the sensor you can try getting in touch with the person who is now producing the CHs and get a recommendation from him. Dan.

are the CH ignitions still available,i heard a while ago that the business was sold to someone else.i rather have a CH ignition than say a rcexl.

Usually what happens is the sensor takes the hit being the nearest path to ground. I repaired dozens of them which have been subjected to the spark lead being disconnected during operation. Sensors are available from Adrian at C&H ignitions. I have many of the boards here if you just need the board.
Is it in a metal case or a plastic case like the RCExl? If it's in an aluminum case, I have repair parts available. John |

I can post pictures of some of the various CH ignition units I have that have been either refurbished or built from all new parts including advance or without, single ignitions and twin ignitions. All are completely functional. Some have rubber boot plug caps with shielding, others have metal shielded plug caps. Most of the Brison 3.2 engines had a mechanical advance linkage without the use of a timer advance board (Syncro-Spark). I have a few of those also in the original cases with Deans connectors as originally supplied fron CH. Limited supply of hall sensors also.

Thanks for the reply John, it has the aluminum case and the Brison has the mechanical advance. Is there a way to check and see what went bad?
