DA/DLE Ignition Systems
Hello All,
I have a question regarding the DA ignitions vs DLE/EME/XYZ ect.. ignition boxes. I've heard DA engines with DA hall sensors must have DA ignitions. Is this true? Can you use a generic RC_Excell Ignition box on a DA if the hall sensor is replaced? I did discover that an ignition box from a DA 60 works fine on a DA 85 because I successfully tried it this past weekend. Thanks! Sonny |
People generally let DA repair their engines. Correct, the DA ignition is different from the CH and RCEXL style ignitions
But yes, you can put a CH or RCEXL style complete ignition on your DA and it will run just fine. |
The sensor on a DA engine is a coil of wire where most other ignitions use a Hall sensor. Both systems work well, they're just different and will not interchange.

Those answers are correct.
I will add the hall sensor (C&H Rcxel & others type) is a switch (on & off), and the coil ( DA type) is a inductance reading a voltage change as the magnet passes TMI ? |

Thanks for the feedback!
