Identifying unknown engine
Hello all
I was recently able to obtrain an unusual engine almost for free. It seems to be a piece of art, however I am unable to determine what kind of engine it is. There are some markers implying a manufacturer, but that name has never made any RC engines. I need to make 2 more posts to add some images, so I am going to add two more posts... https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...d6d53cf123.jpg BR Yanick |

Mac Minarelli engine from Italy. These were sold by Tower Hobbies for awhile but I don't know anything about them. I've never seen one in person. I do remember seeing the name in carting and motorcycle magazines many years ago.

Haha, oh my god, the M also belongs to upper part of the name :D. I have been searching over and over for "ac minarelli"... That explains why I have not been finding anything.

Looks like related to the Tartan Twin, originally sold in USA by World Engines.
Look up Tartan Twin engine. https://amablog.modelaircraft.org/am...n-tartan-twin/ Derived from an Italian powerplant for portable power tools. Also, as a single cylinder version . Supplied in glow and ignition versions for methanol fuel. Used both Super Tigre carbs and Dellorto pumper carbs depending on version. |
