RE: Anybody hear from BME?
ORIGINAL: blkbird68 I wish someone would at this point....this is starting to get pretty ridiculous. BTW, I'm an ordinary guy, not an "insider". I got in Keith's 110 line early, and I've been flying my 110 Extreme for a few days now. BLKBIRD68, how much was the exhaust stub from Klaus Krumscheid? Just curious since I made mine. |

RE: Anybody hear from BME?
I think they were about $9 each though

RE: Anybody hear from BME?
Welp. .I made a few phone calls, talked to some people, did a bit of thinking. .and YUP. . my first response was absolutely dead on the money. . (always like to make sure)
Currently, BME has 20 assembled 110's, ready for shipment. . CH has FOUR ignitions on the way. It's not because BME can't buy the ignitions, has problems with finances, or has not ordered them. . . it's because CH does not deliver. . .end of discussion (though a "person" had claimed the opposite) It was mentioned that BME was short on crankcases. . . the facility machining crankcases for BME is making 4 crankcases per day, or 20/week, which is the production schedule that BME feels most comfortable with. This could be easily doubled if desired. They have a LARGE stock of pistons, cylinders, crankshaft assemblies, carburetors. . even bolts and all the other stuff. . .and can produce 20-40 engines per week if desired. Soooo. . . . what is the limiting factor in production and shipping of engines??? As stated before. . ignitions from CH electronics just are not being delivered. . BUT. . they can be drop-shipped to Chief Aircraft to cover orders from Chief for the BME 50's, and in large quantities too. . . Kind of makes you wonder. |
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
ok...I have an ignition....now if I had an engine to go with it...I'd be happy

RE: Anybody hear from BME?
Call or Email Keith, BlkBird. .. he'll make arrangments, I'm sure. You have to have the "Bosch" plug caps on the engine, the same type of caps DA and 3W use.

RE: Anybody hear from BME?
I have know Bill for about 20 years, and although we are competitors I have neve been turned down when ordering ANYTHING.....I am currently using C&H circuits until I get my new order of 500 boards from a new supplier, the old one went out of the circuit board business....
|
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
Shows what you know...Bosch caps fit only 14mm spark plugs, WSR6, RCJ7Y, or BPMR6....3W and DA use their own caps, made to fit the 10mm NGK CM6 spark plugs used by DA and 3W...
|
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
well I have a twin ignition system with the bosch caps and one with the 14mm rubber boot... so if it takes 14mm I think one way or the other I have it covered....

RE: Anybody hear from BME?
Ralph. . I swear you are becoming absolutely bizarre with all this salivating and gnashing of teeth. . . .please calm down. This is not a Democratic fundraiser, you know. . you don't have to show how well you can attack the "opposition" to make brownie points.
Yes I mis-spoke. . referencing the "bosch" plug caps. . OOPSIE!!! but . . . doesn't Bosch make a plug comparable to the CM6? hmmmmmm When CH delivers 20-50 ignitions, instead of 4, I'll then believe they are serious about filling BME's order. In the meantime dribbling in 4-5 at a time is a very poor showing for the company. |
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
so it's a 10mm plug in the 110??
bummer [sm=frown.gif] that is the only type of twin ignition I don't have. |
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
DA and 3W caps will fit the wire in the C&H ignition, just strip off the outer rubber cover about 3/4 inch, solder or clamp the shield braid to the new cap....
|
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
thanks....I'll keep that in mind if I ever get a motor[sm=biggrin.gif]
I have a CH and a Pro Spark, both are just laying here wishing they were on a motor.... |
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
RCI your wasting time trying to educate Kris with facts, He much prefers lurid gossip.
SO Kris Ask the 7 other engine makers, who pay with credit cards or off pro forma invoices, what their delivery time is. Ask all the users of CH ignitions who had their ignition repaired at no cost after CH found the problem with Syncro Sparks. Even though the units were 6-9 months OUT of warranty. Of course you were all sweet, when you needed an ignition next day air for Your engine. Ask BME why he doesn't use Pro-Spark. Ask all the people who sumched their planes and got the ignitions were repaired, instead of having to buy a new ignition. Ask me how much CH has in bad checks/debits. Yet things get shipped upon recipt of a personal check, instead of waiting 10 days for the check to clear. Why so somebody can go flying this weekend. Ask me how much time I now have to waste answering phone calls caused by this post. |
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
Ok Terry since you are now in the fray...why are there no ignitions??
to be frank I don't give a rats rearend about your problem with Kris or Kris's problem with you or anybody elses problem with anybody.... but, if CH is the reason I am still waiting for my engine then tell me why... if CH is not the reason...tell me why everybody seems to have some reason to think that they are. |
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
You saw it on the internet, it must true [8D]
And he doesn't use Pro Spark because he has probably tested them...C&H ignitions WORK..... |
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
Ok Terry since you are now in the fray...why are there no ignitions?? |
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
That is right ralph they do work, They also have great service and backup there products. From what I have read there is only one person who say's there is a problem with CH and it looks like that is from hear say. People should not make statements unless they have had there head in the bulls a** and know for sure what is there.
Just my opinion and we all what opinions are. Milton |
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
Ok Terry since you are now in the fray...why are there no ignitions?? The 10mm caps are a cnc precision part, the owner of the machine had a heart attack and took a while to get back up to speed. We basically lost 3 months of production. We also spent most of the summer and a wad of money doing repairs to cover the Synco Spark problems. BME did not want to stock pile any ignitions in the months prior to the 110 release. So no CH ignitions might be seen as a CH problem. Are we just sitting around dribbiling out a few ignitions a week and screwing off the rest of the time. NO. We have the parts for over a 1000 ignitions on hand. EXCEPT for the 10mm caps (back ordered for 1 month) and the BME provided insert for the 10mm cap (back ordered for 4 months). |
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
Sounds like a money issue to me. DA,3W pay with Credit Card. BME with personal check. I know who would get my ignitions first.
|
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
Gentlemen,
Just my $.02 worth. For those of you who own businesses, this shouldn't be the forum to air your dirty laundry. It is both unprofessional and definitely un-business like to do so. Moderator, can we stop this thread since it will probably lead to many bad/hard feelings between businesses. Just my $.02 |
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
I agree. I started this thread just to see if there was any insight on where my engine is. It has gone WAY off subject. Even I am straying from the subject. Please close down my thread.
|
RE: Anybody hear from BME?
Those businesses had every right to defend against Kris's charges. Thread closed as per thread starter.
