Engine Identification Help!
I recently bought a Quadra engine at the auction of a fellow club member who has passed away. I am not familiar with the Quadras and do not know how to tell what size it is. Any suggestions? Thanks.

RE: Engine Identification Help!
Old Quadra 35, stock ignition works very well if the points are clean and adjusted, I think the point gap is molded into the point cover...

Take the muffler off and look inside. 1 ring=35cc, 2rings=40cc. They are the same on the outside.

BDTSR.
Partially right on the Quadra 40. The early models used 2 rings while the later model uses 1 ring. Also I believe on Quadra the first two numbers of the serial number is the size. B&B Specialties is the Quadra dealer and has ign. parts. Recomend using their points eliminator. [link]http://bennettbuilt.com[/link] Scott |
RE: Engine Identification Help!
Scott, you are correct. The points equipped ones (40cc) had 2 rings. The later 1 ring version had cdi ignition.
