Default Engine Identification Help!

I recently bought a Quadra engine at the auction of a fellow club member who has passed away. I am not familiar with the Quadras and do not know how to tell what size it is. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Old Quadra 35, stock ignition works very well if the points are clean and adjusted, I think the point gap is molded into the point cover...

Take the muffler off and look inside. 1 ring=35cc, 2rings=40cc. They are the same on the outside.

BDTSR.

Partially right on the Quadra 40. The early models used 2 rings while the later model uses 1 ring. Also I believe on Quadra the first two numbers of the serial number is the size. B&B Specialties is the Quadra dealer and has ign. parts. Recomend using their points eliminator. [link]http://bennettbuilt.com[/link]

Scott, you are correct. The points equipped ones (40cc) had 2 rings. The later 1 ring version had cdi ignition.
