RE: What gas engine to use

In relation to the G62, I think it was RCPilot from Pueblo, CO who laid down a challenge: he will furnish the props and you bring your engines to go against his G62 and he will beat you everytime, guaranteed. That is, assuming you have a 50cc engine, he will not make the same guarantee going up against a 75 or 80 or some larger engine.

By the way, I don't know him, don't speak for him, none of that...I'm just repeating (hopefully correctly) what he said on another thread.

If I got it wrong, I apologize in advance.

I think you're right Larry, but I believe he spells it Rcpilet. He likes his Zenoahs. He's putting a light G62 in an 80" H9 Cap232 and I'm putting a Taurus 52 in mine. There is a thread going on the Cap in Giant Aircraft. When I get my Taurus I will post some numbers with a pitts wraparound muffler and a non-Zinger prop.

I'd like to thank CHM for suggesting a Taurus in the beginning of this thread. It was a great suggestion. I put a TS52 in my Yak and from the first time I started it up, I knew I made the right decision.

I was flying with my buddy who has a Yak and powered by a DA50. He said that my engine wasn't burbling so it must be running lean. hehehe(that's me laughing my ass off). I told him that Bill (from Taurus engines)(Thanks Bill) assured me that the needles were set by him personally and no adjustments were necessary. I took the spark plug out of the plane and examined the electrode. It was browninsh tan color. My friend was impressed. This is a brand new Taurus not even broke in yet and no burbling. Smooth transition from idle to full throttle.

I'm pleased to see you discovered with your Taurus what I had already known with my Brisons. The ones that are running right and maximizing their output don't "gurgle". I know the Taurus 3.2 is stronger than my Brison 3.2, just as I know my 3.2 to be stronger than that other 50. Enjoy!!
