Switch for ignition.

I've got an RCS140 installed in my 93" Citabria, which is my first gasser. My question is, do I need a special switch for the ignition. At the moment I've got a standard switch from a standard flight pack from ServoCity.

The switch will be Ok. Just keep the ignition switch and battery separated from the rest of the electronics, battery etc.
10 inches should be enough.

switch

Are you saying to keep the ignition switch away from the ignition box and battery. I was under the influence that they could be in the same area as long as the ignition system, as a whole(ignition box, battery, switch, and engine) was kept at least 10"-12" away from the radio system(receiver, battery, switch, and servos).

No, I didn't mean away from the ignition module. I meant just what you had been told, keep all ignition components away from the receiver, battery, etc.

Just separate the two systems as much as you can.

twostroker.
if you are using a charging jackand switch combination make sure it is seperated from your receiver/battery switch also

Switch for ignition.

You are going to have more vibration in a gas powered plane than a glow, so I would definitely recommend a heavy duty switch vice the standard one.
