RE: Back to Amsoil?
ORIGINAL: Pat Roy There's a reason they have never been approved for certificated full scale air cooled aircraft engines and stress testing with our smaller air cooled engines has noted similar results. Don't cha know that they Used to make an approved oil. It was called Avoil and was a 50w AD oil. How do I know? Cause I still have about 5 cases of it on the shelf up at my folks house. Dad has saved it in thinking that one day he might get another 100% plane and now at age 80 it probably won't happen. I wold be so curious to know why the discontinued it. ( I could not find any mention on the current Amsoil website) Was it product liability insurance issue (happens alot in GA) or was it the product. I know that they had FAA certification 20 years ago when I jobbered the line. Richard |
RE: Back to Amsoil?
I don't have any desire to go into that part of a discussion on an open forum. It would get out of hand very quickly. I was flying full scale and pretty involved in the ins and outs at that time as well.
