Send that engine back to Bill to get the timing ring corrected. It has two set screws. Perhaps one of them has slipped out and is causing the problem, perhap not. Either way it should be looked at. He's very quick at taking care of things, especially if you call and let hm know it's coming.

Pat i am going to do that it's just removing it from the plane and boxing it up.and i am trying to get two other planes ready,so i have been dragging my feet on the Taurus.
i check the timing when i was seeing what i thought was kind of low RPM's,it was around 25 degrees so i did adjust it and that is when i found the ring problem.

One thing you can say about DA engines. They are clearly an "anybody" engine. Anyone can take one out of the box, install it, and run it for a long, long time, doing little or nothing to it to make it run. Those that bother to tune them a little bit get an even better engine.

Yep the DA was my first and i got spoiled and just expected all gasser's to run the same way.
