DLE30!

Here are the first released pictures of the new 30cc engine from DLE that will be out mid July. Kind of cute, kind of different, hope it lives up to the spec sheet! Still no word on price yet though.

RE: NEW DLE30!
Side carb? You gotta be kidding !!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: NEW DLE30!
A lightweight with quite impressive specs. and if it runs anything like the other DL's it will be making headlines. It would have been nice to see it having a bit narrower footprint but I guess all those guys with big cowl models will be smiling. Looks like the next few months are going to be interesting times with two new 30cc engines about to make their debut, and we can only benefit from it.

RE: NEW DLE30!
Definatly not something I'd try. I guess their safety standards are a little different.
On another note I was surprized at first on the carb set up as well. But when you think about the target this engine is designed for it needs to be very short to fit into allot of the 120 size planes. At least going with a side carb/rear induction it isn't as wide as it would have been it they had put the reeds on the side of the crank like some engines. |

Jody... Please keep us posted! I love my little CRRC Pro .26 but could use a little more punch. I'm interested in price, performance and availability. (Aren't we all?.?.) There are soon to be other choices. ;) http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_88..._9/key_/tm.htm

RE: NEW DLE30!
The designer of that $429 U.S. engine said it was never meant to compete with Chinese engines, because it can't. He's not going to market on price.
|
RE: NEW DLE30!
i can believe that as us USA types like to make money in business and us workers like to be paid top dollar so it a knife to the fight:D
|
RE: NEW DLE30!
The DLE-30 will probably not be sold on price either. Actually DL's are not that cheap compared to other Chinese engines ($410 for the 55). They don't seem to bey selling on price because they have a pretty good engine and have a decent distributor network and support.

RE: NEW DLE30!
Too bad it's side carb and side exhaust. It won't work for many warbirds. I wonder why they changed to a side carb?

RE: NEW DLE30!
JoeAirPort; NIB DL55 can easily be bought for under $260 a piece. ;)
For the DL30, I wasnt expecting side carb with this one.. If it outruns MLD28 then it will take its place quite fast, and be a best seller. |
RE: NEW DLE30!
Would have been a nice feature to have a single centre prop bolt / nut arrangement.

RE: NEW DLE30!
the side carb wont matter on my CAP 232 that has a huge cowl to hide under but it will most def not work on my warbirds that have slender cowls i.e. Stuka
either way I look forward to this coming out |

RE: NEW DLE30!
are they available yet? Wondering if any local vendors have them yet?
|
RE: NEW DLE30!
OK folks, as usual the rumors and speculations have been very inaccurate, the retail price for the DLE30 is $319, they are listed on our website now and pre-orders are being taken. Expected arrival is still around the end of the month. </p> |
