Default 8th Annual Southern 500 - Mulberry Fl. March 16-18, 2012

OK guys, it's time for the first 2012 pylon race of the year for the SEMPRA points title. The Imperial R/C Club in Mulberry Florida will be hosting the 8th Annual Southern 500 pylon race. Friday will be open practice all day for all event participants with the 3 pole short course set-up. This will also be course set-up for the event, but interruption to practice will be very limited.

Saturday will be SEMPRA 424 & 426 on the AMA 3-pole short course. Registration closes at 8:45am, and racing will begin at 9am. After the conclusion of the races, we will re-configure for the long course and practice will again open up.

Sunday will be SEMPRA 424 & 422 on the AMA 3-pole long course. Registration closes at 8:45am, and racing will begin at 9am.

Come out and join the fun on one of the most wide open and flat courses in SEMPRA! Concessions will be provided Saturday & Sunday, and we may do a Saturday night dinner of there is interest in it.

For more information and to per-register for this event, please visit the SEMPRA forums at: [link=http://www.sempra.org/phpBB3/index.php]SEMPRA Forums[/link]

OK guys, 1 week till go time! Friday practice will be open to all pilots for the event, and poles will be set up for short course practice by 9AM. Please bring your own practice fuel for Friday. We will have some fuel available for sale once the light trailer arrives, but just a couple of cases worth. Saturday and Sunday morning we will close registration at 8:15AM, so lets try to get as many registered on Friday as we can. Test flying on Saturday and Sunday morning will close at 8:45am, followed by a short pilots meeting and first heat at 9AM each day. Saturday afternoon after the awards are presented, we will change to the long course and practice will run thru the evening and dinner. If any of you guys have foamies with lights, you may have an opportunity to do some night flying with them. A few of the club guys are planning on some night flying Saturday night after dinner so join in the fun!

We will be taking money for the Saturday night dinner Saturday morning during registration, so make sure you sign up and choose your meal. This will allow the guys cooking to buy what they need for it during the afternoon. If you guys like doing dinner, we will continue to do it at our events. BYOB if you so desire. I know I am!!

We will also be taking your SEMPRA memberships at the race. All you guys who have not paid your dues for this year yet, shame on you! I will be offering a deal to all SEMPRA members at my races. $5 off of 1 event entry per day as a SEMPRA member. You could save $10 if you fly both days, and $20 if you fly both events at my field this year alone!

Lets make this a great one guys!
