I think the trees are about 200' off to the side from pole one. Rusty had been flying my quickee all day prior to his Q40 test flight. What happen was, he took off his Q40 for the first flight. He went a little left on take off, and he didn't pull full up when he got down there (he just wanted to ease it around pole one). So those two things made him even more left. He ended up clipping the top of a tree on his exit from pole one. Just an unfortunate deal all the way around.

It's not an "old" landfill. It's a "current" landfill, still in use. However they say that it's about full, and it should be closed soon. Right across the street is the new landfill, big hole in the earth ready for use. Our field is the only paved runway field in the area. All the other flying fields in the Orlando area are grass.
