RE: build a fuel tank from a waterbottle
The very best ways I have found are
http://www.pspmfg.com/FijiAluminumwa...eltankcap.html
Or
[link]http://www.pspmfg.com/WaterBottleFuelTankCap.html[/link]
Some use fuel proof sealant and fittings but the above products simply work very well at a similar overall price.

all my gassers now use water/soda bottles... not to save money like most assume, and it's not cheaper , but because i got sick and tired of messing with stoppers... its a pain in the balls having to desolder barbs inorder to remove the copper/brass lines from the stopper.... its funny how some people move over to water bottles but still insist on using stoppers
its also really convenient having a clear tank so you can see whats going on inside
here is an example i followed, the only difference in mine is that i use a Walbro felt clunk
you can buy the fittings at www.aircraftinternational.com or www.centralhobbies.com

I cut a disc out 1/32 copper sheet the size of the bottle top, soldered 3-5/32" tubes, drilled a hole in the cap to allow the tubes to pass and screwed together without sealer, no leaks, nothing to buy. Everything came out of the scrap bin.
MetallicaJunkie,
Nice pickup tube, I assume it's one piece? Good to the last drop.

yes its a one piece... i drill out the clunk and solder in a piece of copper tubing... i got that idea from Scott Gerber of Effing Giants
i dont use that method for fuel pick up anymore, i tooks TOMs advice and now use Walbro Felt Clunks in all my gas tanks and gas cans ... they filter down to 10 microns, better than any other filter i have used

I use a juice bottle with B&B fittings...
I seal the cap with Seal All.. available at auto parts stores.
