servo question
I am looking for budget sport digitals for my 25% MXS.
the ones I am looking at are Spektrum DS6020MG, And JR ST126MG.
both say metal gear but have 1 plastic gear in them.
what do you think, will they hold up with a 30cc gasser

RE: servo question
Maybe for the rudder, but I don't use that much servo for the ailerons and elevators on my 50cc's. Maybe I will just stick with the
airtronics 94851, I have had great luck with 4 of these and an 8611 on the rudder of my 30%. Thanks for the input though I may put
one on the rudder, it was a crashed plane and I am trying to keep the cost down

RE: servo question
Gents, I appreciate all the responses about what servo I should get, but no one has answered the question.
will the servos in my original post hold up in a plane with a 30cc gas engine. I have my favorite servos
that I use in my planes, but I am always looking to change things up. I am thinking about just getting
the ST126MG servos and tyring them.

I've no personal experience with the newer Spektrum line of servos but have seen favorable reports on various forums.
ALL MG servos have one plastic or composite type gear on the output shaft of the motor.

RE: servo question
I decided against the JR, or spektrum, that one plastic gear made me nervous. I am getting some used 645MG for the ailerons and elevator, and a
airtronics 94851 for the rudder. Should be a strong setup, I know most people reccomend digitals, but I have used analogs in my sport and
fun planes for years with no problem, in planes that I want to fly precision I always use digitals.

RE: servo question
power HD has some decent metal gear digital sevro's for a lower budget shopper
i have i think the 7150 it's good
But overall i think the factor you get what your pay for does count in sevro's to a point ... I'd just be sure to reaserch whatever sevro i end up choseing to get the pro's and con's and other pepoles experaince with them

RE: servo question
Zeeb, After doing some research, I found I have been operating under a misconception. All the servos that I have in planes,
or looked at have 1 plastic gear, I guess like anything you need a sacrificial part, in case of a failure.
This project I am working on is to prove to some fellow club members you can set up a solid flying gasser on a budget.
I don't really care about analog or digital. the budget I have for the entire flying system is $300. that needs to include servos,
extensions, flight batteries and switches. So help me out guys, Lets get some info on what you would use if you were budgeted to
$300 for all this stuff.
The plane is the Peak Model 30cc mxs. $599 with DLE 30cc combo
Radio: Futaba 9C with Hitec Spectra 2.4 module
Reciver: Hitec optima 7 Channel.
Ignition Battery: 4.8 volt 750 Mah NiMH. $13
Ignition switch: standard Airtronics switch with charge lead. $6
Total so far is $618

RE: servo question
Well the Hitec 645MG has been around a LONG time and served lots of guys well including me for my first gasser which was a 50cc GP Patty Wagstaff Extra. If they have a fault it's centering and they're not particularly fast. The JR 126MG beats it on both counts and while I cannot speak from personal experience about either the Spektrum or HD servos, they both seem to get good reviews on the forums. I personally might be inclined to try the Spektrums if there is a significant price difference from the JR's, but the HD servos is a place I'm not going....
