Default 31% Colombo Anderson Extra 300L

Could you take a photo standing next to the plane with the nose on the ground and the tail in the air so I can get an idea of fuse area and size?

I don't think any of the post from Saturday on are included, I believe I saw a message that said they would be added later.

Some drawings of the color scheme I am thinking of using. Planning on using Yellow, white, metallic plum and true red as my colors. Tell me what you think, I'm open to suggestions or even better submit your own drawings to help me out. I like the left wing panel on the first drawing the best so far.

Nice scheme. I like the yellow because it shows well in the air in almost every sky. Mike

How much do you think this 31% will weigh in at Mark? I am hoping its feasable to get it under 20lbs without much work.

I'm thinking around 19 lbs is where I am going to end up. If I end up at 19 the 60 should be great on it, any heavier and I may be wishing I had the 80.

I have'nt put it on the scale yet but from just picking it up it dose'nt feel to bad.As for power it has a 3W75 on it as for servos I have 5925's all the way around. The only thing I wished I could have for the plane was carbon fiber gear for it.I could'nt find anyone that made them for it.[&o]

Get us some pics of it if you have any, and don't forget to give us a full flight report after you fly it. Can't wait to get mine ready to fly. Have you tried Graphtech rc too see if they will make you a new gear? I would have them make it a little taller if you have them make one.

It's a newer one with a Walbro carb. I worked on the engine box tonight, hopefully will have time tomorrow to finish it up.

regarding 1st question on this thread ,

Spinner size:
I talked to Marcelo Colombo yesterday.. he said the right size of the spinner would be a 3 3/4 inches, but he recommended me a 3 1/2 which will look nicer.
I am not sure we were talking about the same plane!!!
So Think I will go for a 4inches spinner.

Propeller
I am gonna use 24x10 Menz standar to make break in, then 26x8 Carbon Menz or Meijliz

Weight
should go 18-20 pounds

Engine
I chose 3W 75i

regarding counterbalances.. As soon as I get the plane flying I let you know..

all the best
Juan

Default RE: Spinner Size

3 1/2" spinner will definetly look to small, I have one on hand and it's not nearly big enough. I think a 4 1/4" spinner would look good but no one I have found makes one so I will probably go with a 4" spinner.

Well I ended up having to shorten the engine box, I have an older set of instructions that state the distance from F2 to the front of the engine to be 290 mm but the newer instructions on the web site show 270mm for the 31% and 290mm for the 34%. I ended up at 278mm to clear the cowl, cut 12mm off of the side rails. The engine still ended up centered vertically on the firewall.

They say to start at the wing tube for the CG. Throws, haven't seen them listed anywhere.
