Default Prop for DA 150

Hello,
I don't post much here. I am in need of some help.

I have a Great Planes 38% Extra 330S with a DA 150 on her. I have tried using a Vess 32-B prop on it and the engine screams but the plane really does not move to fast. I get a lot of Prop tip noise of the prop. I also tried a Xoar 30-12 on her. The plane flew faster but sounded like a Full Scale Extra coming down the runway. The Prop noise of her hurt my ears at 100 feet up.

I need to quiet her down some and would like to know what Prop you are using on the DA 150 to accomplish this?

Thank You
Joe

A Mejzlik 30X12 would be a good prop. It is the prop of choice for 150cc IMAC planes, noted for it's good pull and low noise. The Xoars in the same size is pitifully loud and give less performance.

on 150 IMAC, the 29x10x3 is the prop to go if noise is an issue. Else take a 32x10. 3D props load the engine less, so you will probably need a 32C

Yep, or in my case a 28.5X12X3, but my 150 is on RE3s.

The best "Quiet " prop I have ever used on a DA 150 was an Airmodels 29.5X12X3. It was quiet enough to make some guys think I was running cans instead of the stock mufflers. Still had plenty of power to haul my 3M Extra 260. Hear on the West Coast, the Mejzlik 32X10 2 blade has been the benchmark prop for over 10 years.

Thank you for all the responses. I have ordered a Mejzlik 30-12.
