Hello Guys,
I recently purchase a lot of these Ultimate Biplane Kits, I have nine total of these and going through everything currently.
Not a lot of information I can find, but the kits appear to be very well built and the glass work is very nice. foam core sheeted wings and complete hardware package from what I can see. Full fiberglass fuselage with a foam sandwich construction on the sides?
Approximate specs are 65" wing span and 68" in length. Which would make the airframe approximately 1/3 (33.8%) This is based on a full size span of 16' for a 10 Dash 200. but I am unsure of the Dash variant this is? It does not appear to have the longer 10 Dash 300 fuselage?
The spinner pictured does not look like a Ultimate spinner, so not sure if that is for these kits.
The only information I got, was that these were brought into the states by a gentleman from Austria through Boise, ID named Petr (Peter) Foldyna. There is thought these kits were produced in the Czech Republic, but I can not confirm that information. His (Peter) passport was in the box along with the tags for the shipment into the US around 2004?, but again can not confirm if the tags found are associated with this particular shipment.
Hoping that somebody might know something about these and can provide some insight and potential know the gentleman that brought them into the US.
I plan on building one for myself and then offering the others for sale, if there is enough interest. I might be stuck with nine Ultimates! I would need to do some design work to bring the internals up to date, but these appear to be very well built.
Thoughts about taking one set of wings and molding them and the tail feathers in composite and make it full composite. But foam core wings are lightweight and strong.
Anyways, please see the pictures and let me know if you might have any information. Thanks guys!
