RE: RE: CA 31 % Build
I agree. My 34% weighs 25 lbs (less monokote) w/ a DA-100. Covering it now. I imagine all up weight will be 26 lbs or so, which I think is great for a 34% / 100cc combination. If you could save 2 lbs going with the ZDZ 80 then your back down to around 24 lbs and that is pushing it. If you were able to get the 34% to 21.5 lbs, many people would like to hire you for your building services!

What is everybody doing for the leading edge of the wing? Sharp or blunt? I think I will set mine up with a more blunt edge, because this plane will see a lot of 3-d use as well as some Imac. What do the ARCs come with?

Getting some more work done. These are pics, where I put the wings, and tail on to check alignment. My wife just loves when I put an airplane togther in the house! So far most everything has fit very well, and I haven't run into any problems.

Hey Bryan - did you double bevel your elevator? If so, what did you do to the stab slot in the fuse to fit it? Did you glass the joint? How about the bottom of the stab joint.

RE: RE: CA 31 % Build
Paul I have the 34% kit. My stabs are tube mounted. Of course I will double bevel the stabs, as I will all the surfaces. What were you thinking? A brother with out 3-D throws? My gosh man get ahold of yourself! On the 27% I would glass the center section of the stab. Prolly not really necasary but it doesn't take long, and adds very little weight, for the piece of mind it will give. I think on some of these the instructions call for cutting the bevels in the foam and then capping them with 1/16 balsa. At least that is how the ARC's at Toledo looked. I used I think 1/2 stock to cap the leading edge of the surfaces, and the TE of the stab/Wing That way the hinge has more wood to help hold it in place. I will cut the bevels after I cut the holes for the robart hinge points.

Yes..... I have the pants on now. Not ready to fly yet though.....still trying to figure how to set up the tail wheel with the pull-pull on the rudder. Are most of you guys using springs or direct connect?

Sure...all up weight RTF(wet) is 19.2 lbs. HS 5645's all around and a HS-225MG on throttle, 3 MPI switches, 2 dual redundant Duralite lithium-ion 2800 batteries packs and an 1800 for ignition. 6V regulators on the receiver packs and a 5.1V regulator on the ignition. Power is a 3W-75us turning a 3W 26-10 prop. Carbon fiber main gear and tail wheel from Graphtech. Controlled by a Multiplex Evo-9 with a Multiplex IDP 9ch receiver. Airwild 1.25" servo arms.

qm1usn, Your plane really looks good. I wouldn't have thought purple, and yellow would have went together, but they look really awsome together. Where did you get the carbon landine gear from? A 3w-75 is going to be insane amount of power on a plane that weighs less than 20 pounds. Have fun with it, and Congrats on a really great looking plane!
