I am thinking of building myself a .60 CAP from scratch. I want it to 3d. You have made some changes to the construction of the CAP X what were they?? How did they affect the flying performance?
Thanks in advance,
Chris
BTW I have just started building that pattern plane you have designed.

I am sure CHIP will have some answers for you, but here's a little input from me
.....
A 60 size will be able to 3D, but it simply will not "FEEL" like any of the 1.20 size or bigger planes. he smaller these airplanes are, the faster they seem to move in just about every aspect of flight. I think one that that probably helps the CAPX and would help your scrath build project is the AIRFOILED tail section. Also a thicker airfol on the wing may help.....I may need more thickness at the tips and left the same at the root.....As you change the SIZE of the aircraft, the flight characteristics change. So whatever CHIP might have done to the CAPX simply MAY or MAY NOT do any good for a smaller 60 size airplane...... The airfoil ideas will help slow the plane down, but you just can't obtain the same stability of a bigger plane.
I too would be interested in CHIP's response......

Its all about wing loading and Horse power and the smaller you get the harder it seems to be to obtain what might be consider the optimum for each. Just keep it light, build it to fly not to crash. I also enlarged the stab and fin as well as all control surfaces.

Chip:
My models are always way too light. That's why they usually don't last for too long. what would be the maximum weight of my cap with os .61fx?? Should I use airfoiled stabs?? And what airfoil for the wing??
Thanks,
Chris
