Ultra Stick 1.20 With Ryobi 31cc
ONLY HAVE ONE FLIGHT SO FAR WITH THIS COMBO. WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAD ONE OF THESE WITH A WEEDIE ENGINE ON BOARD. ON MY FIRST FLIGHT I HAD AN 18-10 APC ON IT, BUT HAVE CHANGED TO A 16-6 DUE TO THE ENGINE ISNT FULLY BROKEN IN YET. I ALSO DECIDED TO CUT SOME WEIGHT BY PUTTING THE SERVOS IN THE TAIL AS WELL AS THE BATTERY. AFTER THAT ADJUSTMENT I ONLY HAD TO ADD A LITTLE BIT OF LEAD TO MAKE IT BALANCE . ALL IN ALL I GUESS I SAVED ABOUT A POUND OR SO. SO FAR I CAN SEE THIS PLANE BEING ALOT OF FUN. NEVER HAD FLAPS BEFORE AND WAS SURPRISED AT HOW NICELY IT SLOWED THE PLANE UP WHEN USED. IT LANDED ALMOST LIKE I SET IT DOWN MYSELF. ANYWAY I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM OTHERS THAT HAVE SIMILAR SETUPS AND HOW THEIR PLANE FLIES AND WHAT TRICKS THEY CAN DO WITH IT.. ID LIKE TO HEAR ABOUT IT..
THANKS

Ryobi 31 on Ultra Stick
I'm planning to do this to my 120. Haven't don it yet.
Look at this http://www.jagengines.com/Ultra31.htm
I already have the three servos mounted in the tail. One for each elevator half and one for the rudder.
Keep in touch

Ryobi 31
Have you installed the replacement ring in your engine? If so what difference did it make?
Has anyone modified the newer engine with the 2 rings? Give us a report if you would.

1.20stik and gas
I first flew mine with a Brison 2.4 then put a Quadra 35 just to compare. The Brison has a little better up line.I had put my servos in the tail but had to move them up front to balance with both engines.I gave 450 for the Brison and 150 for the Quadra.Either way the plane is fun to fly and cheap to fly.

2-ring Ryobi
I just completed a 2-ring Ryobi conversion. It turned a 16x8 MA prop at 7800-7900 rpm with the stock rings (0.020" end gap on rings) after about 1-hour run in. Got Frank Bowman's cast rings for engine and after another hour got the same rpm. Engine sounded like it needed more prop. Put MA 18x8 on it and it turns 7400 to 7500. This shows 2.5 hp and 16-1/2# thrust on the ThrustHP program. I believe engine will turn even more with another hour or so run in and switching to Amsoil synthetic at somewhere between 50:1 and 100:1 mix. I used Paragon's conversion kit/mount & Jag Engine's muffler. I'll try a 20x6 when I get one and give my numbers.
