If it is a three servo tray and one servos locks all the way to one side, the other two servos will br able to bring the rudder to neautral, and possibly past.
A floating bellcrank would not be able to do more than the self adjusting servo tray, and both will prevent the other servos from frying or at least offer much better flyability, than if all servos were connected rigid, and one could take out or fight the other(s).

blkbird- I just manually tried it on my SWB tray and I could get it back to about 99%of neutral.

good for you..it didn't work on my friends plus it is too heavy.....
