This isn't like an important issue, or question, its just one of those airborne moments I want to share. I was flying my Extra Special last night just after a rain shower. The sun was at my back and the dark clouds were right behind the plane. I had been waiting a long time for it to stop raining so I was really jazzed to be flying. I was about 150 feet up and pulled the nose up, starting an elevator. But the angle of attack ended up being way higher than normal, so the plane was almost pointing straight up. The extra stopped dead in the air and dropped 100 feet absolutely motionless, except for the drop, of course. Then I throttled up and flew off. The sun on the plane against the dark background made the most awesome picture! It was like one of those "why I fly RC" moments. Ok, back to our regularly scheduled program......

Geistware,
Well, um.......you see, the thing is.....I forgot to duct tape the digital video camera to my head before taking off. So it was difficult to keep the throttle and elevator balanced to achieve flying nervana during the elevator and grab the camera at the same time. Next time I'll remember the duct tape........
uh, sorry.....

It kind of looked like a tail slide, except the nose wasn't straght up, and it didn't descend as fast ( I was balanceing power to keep the nose up) When I was done, I just lowered the nose and flew off. Yesterday I was doing way cool knife edge elevators. so far, though, I've just been rolling out to recover. next time I want to add more power at the botom of the maneuver to make a high alpha KE pass. I'm learning lots of cool stuff with this plane!
