Graphic Images and a warning!
This happened to me this weekend as a result of not checking servo orientation and not tethering my plane when starting it. Please fly safely! I now[img][/img] have permanent nerve damage!

It's a brand new plane for me. I fly a 1/4 scale Tiger Moth, Fourstar 60, GP P51 an dlotsa electrics there. I am not back in shape enough to come satyrday and the plane is still covered in blood...B)

RE: Graphic Images and a warning!
Tim, sorry to hear about your servo problem.
I hope, as many others do, for a fast and as painless recovery as possible.
I have had some rather nasty run ins with smaller engines myself, nothing like a big gasser though.
I guess that'd be like trying to stop your lawm mower by hand, ouch!
I'll plan on tying down all my planes from now on!
Thanks for sharing your misfortune, so that others may learn.
Good luck to you and your family Tim.

Tim,
Sorry to hear about your miss hap. It hurts me just to look at your extensive wounds. I hope you recover real soon. Thanks for the post we tend to forget just how dangerous these planes we fly are , especially large scale planes with gas engines.

FlyBye Tim
My condolences to you and your family. I really hate to see someone get hurt by their planes. I know your pain as I had an incident myself Last summer. I only lost the last joint on my right thumb and got 100 stitches as a reward for my DA stunt.
I hope you heal quickly and are able to get back in the saddle sometime soon. Just don't push it and let nature take its' course.
God Bless and keep you safe.

Fly Bye Tim,
I hope you recover soon and well, my friend. I'm guessing that the servo in question was the throttle?
I'm not preaching here, Tim, but we all hate to discuss safety..............and this is the reason why we have to discuss it. As enjoyable as our hobby is, it can be hazardous. Those of us who have been in it for a time are familiar with stories like yours. I know a guy who was killed by his own airplane.
Please, let's all be as careful as we can. Good luck, Tim.

RE: Graphic Images and a warning!
I am sorry to hear of your accident. I posted a simular warning for the same mistake. I got off easy with the tip of my pinkey cut off and two other fingers damaged. If you have not had nerve damage people you do not want to experience it.
Again sorry to hear of your accident.
Get well
