Default Bolly wood prop comments

Lets hear what you people who have tried them think of them. How's the performance and don't hold back now how's that prop noise that some folks cringe at? Don't be afraid to talk about the NOISE now because everyone knows there is a certain time and place for it.
****NOTE**** This thread wasn't started to give you anti-noise activist's a opportunity to give a sermon on how bad and damaging prop noise is so if you have the urge to preach please don't respond to this tread.
Thank You.

Mr. 3D,

I have experience with their C/F props and they are sweet, but I wanted to get into this thread to get the email notices as I am also looking for almost the exact same info you are.

I've tried their 28-10 carbon fiber on my DA 100 and it was way toooooo heavy. The spool up was a joke.

i use almost exclusively bolly props - h9ultimate/da150 - 32x10 wood is what i use for everyday flying - i have stable hover at 25% throttle and unlimited vertical half and up with great pullout from hover - my plane weights 19.5 kg or 43lbs complete with smoke - yes i have prop rip at high rpm but its great for shows and this is a show plane!!

I have been using the Bolly wood props in place of the impossible to get MenzS. I think they are very similar in performance and sound. I have been using the 22x8, 23x8 and 18x6... all sizes that are hard to come by in the Menz....

I have a Bolly CF 26x10 on my 3W-75i... runs great, not too loud and great braking on downlines.. The Menz 24x10 I had was a screamer and everyone complained about the noise!!

Thanks for the info. It seems that the Menz S,Prince and NS props are the loudest from all the info that I've read and what other people have said.

I've been running the Bolly wood 22 x 10 on my DA50/WH 28% Edge and Extra and really like them. Very quiet with good low rpm thrust output. I prefer it over my Mejzlik 22 x 10 on this combo. I also tried a Bolly 23 x 8 on it and didn't like it. RPM's were down to 6300 and it was VERY LOUD. Since then I trimmed it down to 22 x 8. I haven't tached it yet, but it sounds like it's turning 7200 or so, great performance, and QUIET. Go figure. Must be my improved tip design.

more on bolly - but for my 150 i also use 22x8/23x8wood on my da 50/chip DV and 18x8wood on my moki180/modelbau funtana 2m and then lots of the small props on the 46/50/100's etc - i have found them to be reasonably priced and good in all round performance - i have now also a selection of carbon props to try i am sure the results will be good
