Wow! That is awesome Dion! THe 85" is coming this summer? I love the covering scheme and the planes off scale is cool, kinda between an extra and a yak.

BTW did you get the QQ 37.5%'er yet? Figure you'd have one for each day of week by now.

I just ordered one of these new yaks, should have it here this week, and finished in a week or two. Either getting a BME 110 with cans or a 3W QS 106 with cans. Havent decided. Hitec 5955s if I can find some.

Well, the comp-arf is a Yak 55, QQ's is a 54, so it's no comparison. And, IMO the 55 is an UGLY SOB!
I saw the QQ close up at Toledo. VERY, VERY similar in build quality and technique to the ExtremeFlight's. I was impressed and kinda liked the "off-scale" look as a result of the changes Quique made to it. I would be interested to see if there is the same little issues, such as twisted fuse...keep us posted!

good news is that some planes are boxed. wayne and QQ are really doing a great job in packing.. the fuse has two over packs. I helped pack up some of the plane today and when you do get the plane you will take a hour trying to get the plane out of the box. some one needs to start a build thread on this plane soon..

RE: QQ Somenzini 102" Yak-54 ARF
We were suppsed to get new boxes this morning from Wayne Ulrey and ship this afternoon. He doesn't want them to ship until the wings boxes are re-enforced. He said they might come in tomorrow or Wed at the latest. Our facility is only a 5 minute drive from their wharehouse and as soon as he gets them in we'll be getting them and shipping. Sorry but we have to play by their rules. Wayne Ulrey, QQ's partner, is very picky on this packaging, which is a good thing. So basically none of them can leave until he beefs the boxes up.

RE: QQ Somenzini 102" Yak-54 ARF
an update on the headers, etc. The headers QQ used on his yak were custom made, and its pretty apparent right now that there is not a 100% solution for headers for 3w 106. The drop on the 3w headers seems to be too deep, the flex header MAY work, but not for sure. Guaging the pictures in the manual, the drop from the header is minimal, but less than a regular 3w header. I decided since I dont want to hassle with making a set of custom headers, that the headers for the bme 110 should work, seeing how the drop is only 2" or so. I plan on the 110 on cans instead of the 106. I will post how this works out as well.

I have one of these in the shop that I was able to do a little work on last night. The hinges are flat pin style hinges. It is preslotted and work well. The one in my shop is all hinged with the execption of the ailerons. This one is not mine but after checking this one over good I might end up with one myself. I hope to have this one RTF next week and then I will post some pics and maybe some videos as well.
