Default differences in attaching wings

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the difference In pinning a wing on a large aerobatic ARF vs bolting them on the fuselage. Most of the planes I'm seeing now are using some sort of pinning system (Quiques Yak 54) instead of bolts (GP Wagstaff). I'd appreciate any imput on the differences pro and con to each fastening systems Thanks Mike

Do you mean cotter pins? Either way as long as the wings are tight to the fuselage and won't come out I don't think it matters.. My Wildhare uses an allen screw and one of the dowels has a cotter pin as back up..

Yes they are cotter pins. I was just curious as I've never seen wings attach this way before. I was told by a manufacturer that they do this for cramped spaces in certain aircraft and he assured me they never have had a problem. Thanks a bunch for the input! Mike

Well getting an allen wrench or phillips in a small fuselage can be a P.I.T.A.

The Pins on the WH are supplemental.
I have a carden that uses a pin through the fuse and wing to secure it to the wing tube. While I like this the best, it does pose problems at times.
