RE: YAK 54 TOC1
I have always done a 3 line system with 2 clunks cause that was suggested to me when I started out. Works really well so I just keep doing it, I am sure both ways are fine. You can also do a 3 line system but have you tubing for the fill just pointed down to the bottom of the tank to avoid a second clunk, but I just run 2 clunks.

jaybenson5 ..... You do a nice job building. I like the triangle stock on the engine box.
I want to know what hardware you are using on the rudder. It looks like the cable attach points are on the hinge line. Thats great! Where can I get them.
Heres some pics from last weekend. The weather was great and so Dale and I hit the field. BTW I put the tach on the 23x8 CF prop and pulled 6000 RPM with my custom exhaust. I have had a problem with the smoke pump leaking so I am sending it back to Sullivan.

Justplane crazy,
That switch is the one that comes with the power box 40/16. It's great too, you hold one button down to arm, then the other two to turn on each individual batt. This system also does not draw any current while the batteries are pluged in and in the off position, and even if the switch comes unpluged from the power box the system remains on.
757,
That control horn on the rudder is the dubro one. To me it's the best because the two towers screw on and allow the washers to bed against the taipered sides of the rudder just right. I got the 3" offset swb arm in the mail today so I'll see how it all works out tonight.

RE: YAK 54 TOC1
Thought I can not speak for QQ or BME. I just flew my 30% Yak and I can say I have never flown a better 50 size plane in my life. I was with two other pilots today and they both said the same thing. This plane looks great and flies great.
Thanks for all of your guys help.

I really like the look of the prop HUB rather than a spinner. I was about to make one - I guess I will save two hours and just buy one of those.
P.S. : You really should not tease us like that with that 40% - LOL looks great!!
by the way - where is your cg at? I have had trouble getting mine to lock into a hover - my cg is right on spar ( it is easier without the spinner ).

RE: YAK 54 TOC1
Conrad I used the TME smart smoker, a 6volt 1200 pack, and a 16oz tank. I have yet to test it all I have to do is tap the muffler. I dont have the actual slimline smoke muffler, I'm just going to drill and tap the slimline I have just behind the manifold. There is a plug in mine but its way over on the far end away from the exhaust port. That port may work, if you use it it is bigger than 8-32. I should get mine tapped this week and will post pics and results.
BTW futaba 9C users can easily link your smoke pump to the "throttle needle setting", which will adjust the flow with your throttle curve.

Does tapping into your muffler require any special hardware, and how well does it work? I got the a slimline muffler with mine and was thinking of doing the same thing, but I was worried about how to do it and the results.
