Elevator Servo Mounting
I have a prototype Su 26 that has airfoiled stab/ elevator.......Although there are cut outs for fuse mounted servos ... The angle to the elevators is fairly steep.....with the control horn mounted as close as feesable to the rudder end of elevator.........
I've seen many planes with the elevator servo mounted in the stab itself..... Does this mounting cause alot of pressure to the horizontal stab ? Would counterbalancing the surface relieve any of the pressure ? PLane is aprox 33%
I have also considered adding more material to the inboard side of the elevator and moving the horn over.....There appears to be room even with MAX rudder throw....
Comments or suggestions appreciated

RE: Elevator Servo Mounting
If you use a metal/aluminum servo horn, swivel link control horns like Nelsons/Rocket City. And ball links on the servo end I think you would be OK with the angle in the pushrod as long as the ball link is not at such an angle that the plastic swivel binds on the ball shaft. If the plane is not in the arf configuration and the stab build up is not completed then setting it up for mounting the servo's in the stab would be the way to go. I think either way would be ok.
