1 1/4" ok on Ailerons
You need 1 1/2 on the elevators.
I would not shorten the control horns as you are more likely to get control flutter.

Good enough. I have some 1 1/4" Airwild arms lying around so I thought I would ask. I will just stick with the arms supplied with the plane.
